The tone of this hummingbird is an absolute cannon, it fills the room with beautiful and lush acoustic tone! In the 70's some copies were made of some American classic guitars that were just as good if not better than the real thing, this guitar is definitely up there with the best of them. Playability is amazing, it plays just like a 60’s Gibson with that indescribable bounce and liveliness in the string response. The sunburst against the pickguard is stunning! The tonality and fade to the colors is phenomenal, super classy and eye catching. It's in phenomenal condition through and through, there's a few scratches and signs of play here and there, but you would never believe it was 50 years old. I've played just about every era of Gibson Hummingbird, and this totally nails that naturally compressed and focused sound. The voice goes over the top of it beautifully, that is the magic of the Hummingbird, you just start singing over it. Some guitars sound beautiful and amazing on their own, but when it's time to add in the vocals on top it's like they're already occupying the space where the vocals need to go. The Hummingbird was voiced so the vocals can effortlessly just find their place. I honestly think that big pickguard has something to do with it, it compresses the top and the sound a bit! Great guitar with some beautiful songs in it!
