Ivison Guitars is a small, boutique electric guitar company based in Worcestershire, UK. All Ivison guitars are hand built, one at a time by Neil Ivison, from raw lumber selection to the final hand buffed ‘vintage patina’ finish using the finest quality materials available and using traditional construction methods and techniques.
The Dakota was inspired by Neil’s love of the classic tones of Johnny Winter and Allen Collins (Lynyrd Skynyrd). Envisaged as the soul of the radical mid 60’s, auto inspired classics with a more ergonomic, manageable vintage Single Cut feel, it features a 3 piece body construction with a raised centre block and ‘wings’, one piece Honduran mahogany neck, bound Indian rosewood fingerboard with celluloid trapezium inlays, vintage 12 degree headstock angle, a pair of exceptional hand wound Sunbird pickups, aged Faber wraparound bridge and hardware and premium CTS & Switchcraft components. This Dakota is finished in classic Pelham Blue, with the Ivison Heavy Aged finish with authentic lacquer cracking, light marks and dings, and signs of lacquer fading/greening typical of these 50s style Pelham finishes.
Comes with a Hiscox hardcase and certificate of authenticity.
