The Fender Telecaster- REDEFINED! This is a brand new model we call the Modern Vintage Player Tele, or “MVP” for short. It is the newest evolution in our Dealer Select Master Vintage Player Series, built exclusively for Make'n Music in the Fender Custom Shop!!! These special instruments are custom designed to offer the Ultimate in Tone, Playability and Feel. Each guitar is hand-made to our specs in order to give the vibe of a classic vintage instrument, with all the conveniences of a true modern player's piece.

The MVP Tele plays like a dream thanks to a number of strategically chosen spec upgrades. While it looks to be business as usual, it’s really more of a party. The body is cut from lightweight Alder and includes the Elite contour heel for easier access to all 22 frets, as well as a tummy contour for extra comfort and Top Binding for a classy look. The neck is carved from Quartersawn Maple with a Dark Rosewood Slab Fingerboard, and features a custom to our specs, Oval "C" profile, rolled fingerboard edges, 1.6875" nut width, and flatter 9.5" fingerboard radius. Not only does it feel great, but adjustments are a breeze too, as the Truss Rod is accessible from the headstock. You no longer have to remove the neck for a tweak!

Additional features and upgrades include the awesome top-load/string-through Telecaster bridge with compensated "bullet" saddles. This is the most comfortable, flexible Tele bridge yet - retaining classic brass-saddle tone while providing excellent intonation and flexible setup options. Custom tailor the tension and tone of each string to your liking. Strings can be top-loaded for reduced tension, resulting in a mellower twang and springy attack that's perfect for rock n roll, or strung traditionally through the back of the body.

The electronics are special too. A Custom Shop Twisted Tele pickup in the neck position provides added sparkle and clarity – more like a Strat pickup than a typical Tele neck pickup. The Original Blackguard (OBG) bridge pickup is hot and nasty – just like it should be. Together they ensure this Tele has plenty of spank and twang without any harsh, squawky qualities. Custom wiring with Master Volume and Tone Controls offer modern functionality, while an S1 switch on the Tone Control is wired up for Series/Parallel, which basically works like preset “booster” when engaged, adding fatness to the sweet, rich, delectable tone. It’s also routed from the factory for a humbucker under the pickguard to accommodate potential future upgrades. Very Cool Indeed!
