This guitar is in excellent condition, presenting outwardly as brand new with just a few tiny cosmetic signs of wear. There is a small group of impressions on the treble-side top of the guitar, which are purely aesthetic and can only be seen under very close inspection. There is a small group of similar impressions on the back of the guitar, in the typical buckle rash zone, which also can only be seen under close inspection. There are a handful of small marks on the bass side of the neck, grouped near the 12th fret, which thankfully can barely be felt and do not get in the way of play at all. There is virtually no wear to the frets, besides a few tiny signs of the beginnings of wear on the B string between frets 2-5 - this is so minor that there will be no issues for many years to come. Besides this, the guitar has no other wear, and it plays/functions as though brand new, and is tonally benefitted by a few years of play by the previous owner. It comes with the original Taylor Aerocase.
The American Dream Series was crafted at the intersection of U.S. craftsmanship, premium tonewoods and great value for working musicians. Made with solid ovangkol back and sides with a spruce top, the AD17 is a Grand Pacific dreadnought that serves up a warm, seasoned response that will remind players of classic acoustic sounds. V-Class bracing helps dial up more volume and sustain along with cleaner intonation all the way down the neck, and chamfered body edges make for a more seamless feel. Clean visual details include a subtle Urban Sienna stain for the back and sides, a three-ring rosette in Hawaiian koa, a faux-tortoiseshell pickguard, and a thin matte finish that maximizes resonance. The acoustic-only AD17 ships with a sturdy AeroCase.
