TAN reissue handle for 70s - 90s Gibson tan cases

comes with 7/8 inch brass axles - custom order

Two options for installation!  See details below....

Tan handle with faux stitching....a perfect replacement for many 1970's through 90's Gibson tan cases.

Comes unassembled.....the offset mounting plates can be turned (reversed) a number of different ways to follow the unique curves of a form-fit guitar case or drum case.  You can follow different types of contours.

The handle portion is a new-old-stock TAN reissue handle, MADE IN THE USA.  Comes with vintage brass (gold) "OFFSET" hardware...which can fit a variety of hard-to-fit contours as found on drum cases and form-fit guitar cases.

This replacement reissue handle set with OFFSET gold hardware can follow the rounded contours of a guitar or drum case. Can be used on any application where you have difficult angles to work with.

Durable handle with classic gold mounting hardware looks great on tweed or tan.

Includes two sizes of rivets to help ensure a correct fit...

Includes 5/8ths rivets and 1/2 inch (install with normal hand tools). If you need a different size rivet you can email or call and get a different size.

The handle measures 4 and 3/8th inches from center of leg to center of leg.

Great quality, and now with two ways to install:

  • 1.  Use the hardware shown by mounting the two  axles through the mounting plates, then install the completed handle onto the case using the 4 rivets...or...

  • 2.  Use your pre-exisiting case hardware and simply install the raw handle using the two axles. This keeps your case original. (Your original case hardware should be similar in appearance to that shown here, in order for the axles to fit correctly.  These are "spinning" axles as oppose to being the non-spinning or "fixed' type).

If you need help...send me a pic of your case!

Istructions are included.  I also have a youtube video to help with axle pin installation.

Shop Talk - to install the axles, slide the axle through the handle and case hardware so that the open end of the axle points to the inside of the handle. Then, use a small hammer to "ball pien" the open axle end, creating a burr which locks the axle and handle in place. This is the same process used at the factory and it will have a factory appearance. Works great!   (TIP:  place a counter-weight or another hammer against the opposite end of the axle that you are tapping...this will make your hammer taps more meaningful).

* A standard size rivet is included. If you know the specific length rivet you need you should email that BEFORE paying.  If you need a different size rivet AFTER you receive the handle they can be provided at an additional charge which covers our cost....we want to help you get your case back on the road!
