About This Listing

Beautiful Spanish classical guitar handmade in 1987 by legendary Luthier Vicente Carrillo in Cuenca, Spain. Authentic flamenco guitar with tons of history.

The top, sides, and overall surface of the instrument show some playmarks and dings but the guitar sounds just amazing with excellent volume, balanced sound with bright yet full trebles and powerfull bases. Very easy to play. Nice low action. Super responsive. Everything you’d expect from a nice flamenco guitar.

Comes with a soft case.

Carrillo legacy:

The Carrillo family began building guitars in year 1744 in “Manchuela Conquense” also called Casasimarro. Already in the 19th century, the town was nicknamed “El pueblo de las Guitarras” the town of guitars. The instruments continue to be built in the same place by Vicente Carrillo, the family’s seventh generation luthier.

Vicente Carrillo was awarded the “Regional Craft Award” in 2009 and also the “National Award” in 2010. All his guitars have a special sound, reaching a satisfying balance between powerful bass and sweet treble. Innovation is always a factor in his workshop, using several different construction techniques, which is why he is constantly progressing towards a greater understanding of the art of luthiery. Artists who play and have played guitars built by Vicente Carrillo are, among others: Paco de Lucía, Tomatito, J.M. Cañizarez, El Niño Josele, Rafael Cañizares, Javier Limón, Keith Richards & Josemi Carmona (Ketama).
