About This Listing

I am offering here a Peerless Jazz City from 2007, a hollowbody archtop jazz guitar handmade in the legendary Korean Peerless guitar factory with 17'' body size incl. Florentine cutaway, solid flame maple top with two f-holes, arched back and sides made of laminated flame maple, set maple neck with slim C-neck profile, bound rosewood fingerboard with elaborate split block mother-of-pearl inlays, warm-sounding fixed humbucker pickup, high-quality Grover Imperial Gold tuners, floating Rosewood Tune-o-Matic bridge with Cello Style Rosewood tailpiece and beautifully gradient Honey Burst Satin finish with black Rosewood pickguard and cream-white bindings incl. Abalone purfling on the top in mint condition including black hard case and professional setup with 12-gauge D'Addario flatwound strings.

Peerless is Korea's leading guitar manufacturer and has been building high-quality jazz and semi-acoustic guitars since the 1970s. Over the years, peerless has built thousands of guitars for Gretsch, Gibson, Fender and Epiphone and is still a renowned brand today, offering instruments that match the sound and playability of much more expensive boutique manufacturers at a fraction of the price.

This Peerless Jazz City comes with an impressively figured solid flame maple top, which already gives the guitar excellent acoustic resonance, and laminated flame maple back and sides with a set maple neck. Together with the voluminous 17'' body size, the guitar produces a rich, clean and clear sound at the amp without causing any feedback problems at higher volumes. The rosewood fingerboard, which is bound in triple black/cream bindings with elaborate split block mother-of-pearl inlays, not only complements the cello-style rosewood tailpiece and floating rosewood bridge aesthetically, but also lends the tone its characteristic warmth.

The fixed humbucker produces a fat jazz tone without losing its woody, clear character. Whether fast-paced bebop lines, fingerstyle ballads or blistering blues leads, this instrument can do it all!

A sound sample of the model can be found at the end of the photo gallery.

The slim C-shaped neck profile in combination with the 42.9 mm nut width and the Florentine cutaway ensure effortless playing of the most difficult chord shapes right up to the high registers. The Grover Imperial Gold tuners hold the tuning reliably and the intonation is clean across the entire fingerboard.

Visually, the guitar immediately impresses with its semi-transparent honey burst satin finish, under which the grain of the tonewoods is successfully accentuated, as well as loving details such as the creamy white bindings including abalone top purfling, the artistically designed Jimmy D'Aquisto headstock and the 5-ply bound rosewood pickguard.

It is one of the most beautiful jazz guitars to be found in this price range today: highest quality workmanship, top playability and gigantic sound!
