The slope-shouldered workhorse of the Gibson lineup, the J-45 has been around since 1942 and is considered by many to be an essential member of any serious acoustic player’s arsenal. Sitka spruce top over mahogany sides/back give it the perfect balance of presence and warmth. The 24 3/4” scale makes the J-45 a bit easier to play than many dreadnoughts, but with no loss of power.
The new faded vintage sunburst is a smooth, easy-maintenance, matte finish. The onboard LR Baggs VTC acoustic pickup system includes unobtrusive volume and tone controls, mounted just inside the soundhole. Known for natural acoustic sound, Baggs' systems offer great dynamic range and delicate high end.
The J-45 produces plenty of low end punch, but not at the expense of mids and highs—perfect for recording and live use. Hardshell case included.
