Antique 19th Century Martin Stauffer Wooden Coffin Parlour Guitar Hard Case 1800

I recently visited the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville and, whilst walking around I noticed a little case for a Martin guitar from the 19th Century. It looked ever so familiar so I took a photo. When I got home to the UK, I realised I had this very case in my storage unit - better known as the coffin case. It came with a 19th century guitar I purchased some time back, but it was too big for the guitar it had inside so I kept it for a 'rainy day'. More research would say that this is a pretty incredible original case from the 19th century, sometimes used with Martin guitars (like the one I saw in the Country Music Hall of Fame), or similar. The case is wooden, and has two latches that work well. There is also a key hole that doesn't come with a key unfortunately. The hinges are in good working order. The interior has been lined in the early 1900s with some type of wallpaper, and then lined again with some really old blue paper. Compared to the condition of all the others I've ever seen come up for sale, this one is in wonderful condition! The interior dimensions are - Length 99.5cm / Width at lower bout: 31.5cm / Width at upper bout: 24.5cm / Depth 9.5cm. Grab a true rarity indeed!
