Beautiful Hofner mod. 485, aka "Vienna", classical guitar made in Germany in the early 1960s.
This model was built from 1958 to 1971 and had a solid spruce soundboard, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, maple neck, laminated flame maple back and sides.
The first distinctive feature of this model is the beautiful rosette around the soundhole, which is carved from solid spruce, beautifully executed with precise, sharp angles. No binding or purfling or inlays on the rest of the body, which gives simplicity and elegance to the instrument.
The second distinctive feature is the manouche-style headstock.
Classic Hofner guitars had the paper in the soundhole since 1965, so this one is earlier.
The neck is straight and very playable, with an action of around 3mm at the 12th fret.
The guitar is in excellent condition and well preserved.
It is all original and comes with its original soft case.
