Up for sale, a 1986 B.C. Rich NJ Series Warlock Bass in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. With its gloss black finish, bound body, reverse headstock and complex electronics suite with a pair of split coil P-style pickups at its heart, any Nikki Sixx fan will find all the sonic ammunition they need in this Warlock.

From the sought after NJ Series (short for Nagoya, Japan), this bolt-on B.C. Rich is crafted with the utmost skill and attention to detail. Tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck, and slab rosewood fretboard, and the bass has a balanced, resonant acoustic quality. Controls include a Master Volume, a three-way pickup selector, Preamp Volume, Preamp On/Off switch, 6-position Varitone, Phase switch, Dual Sound neck pickup switch, Dual sound bridge pickup switch, and a Master Tone control to round things out. The bass can sound defined and open, or engage the Preamp to push your rig to its limit for mean grind. This Warlock has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The maple neck has a moderately chunky C-shaped profile carve with lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .865” deep at the 1st fret and .990” at the 12th. On the slab 24-fret rosewood fretboard, the medium jumbo fretwire shows virtually no wear, playing cleanly up the 34” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 5/8“ in width. On the reverse headstock, the “R”-stamped tuning machines function reliably with clean chrome-plating. The back of the headstock retains the silver foil “Patent Pending” and serial stickers, dating to ‘86.

All electronics work as intended, with the active componentry powered by a 9V battery. Hardware includes the trio of dome-topped knurled knobs and the heavy duty bridge. The gloss Black finish is framed on top by cream binding, and cosmetic wear is limited to a number of dings along the lower bout perimeter, concentrated at the body points (as is common on Warlock instruments), with just a handful of faint scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The neck profile has a smooth satin finish.

The original B.C. Rich-branded faux leather gigbag is included.
