Pearl PF-770 by Hayashi Gakki made in 1971

"This Pearl guitar, manufactured by the instrument maker Hayashi Gakki, is particularly popular among Japanese vintage guitars. It was crafted by the renowned luthier Yasuo Momose, known for producing Burny, Rider, and Mountain guitars.

When we think of Pearl, we usually associate it with a specialized drum manufacturer and a well-known flute maker. However, in the 1970s, Pearl entrusted the production of acoustic guitars to Hayashi Gakki.

Despite this venture, they couldn't capitalize on the acoustic guitar boom, leading to a production span of only five years from 1971. As a result, these guitars are extremely rare.

Upon further investigation, it's revealed that this specific instrument, identified by the underlined logo on the headstock, was likely made between 1971 and 1972. Additionally, the early pickguard features the letter 'P' as a mark. Furthermore, the truss rod cover on this instrument also bears the 'P' mark, making it a highly rare guitar.
