Partscaster MIM Stratocaster 2005 Warmoth CLT Neck - 2 Tone Sunburst

Here's a Partscaster that's ready to rock right out of the case. The body is a 2005 MIM Fender Stratocaster body. The stamp in the neck cavity indicates 2005. The body is in good condition, with some minor cosmetic wear to the finish. The pictures show minor wear from normal use. No big buckle rash on the back. A white pearloid pickguard is on this body. A Wilkinson VSVG vintage bridge/tremolo is fitted on this guitar. This is a great upgrade, it's easier to adjust, and feels more solid than the traditional Strat bridge. Currently the tremolo has 5 springs fitted to it, so it is very stiff, practically locked out. Springs can be removed, and the tremolo adjusted to have a lighter feel to it.

The neck is a Warmoth Clapton 'Soft V' model Stratocaster neck. Once you get used to the different feel of the soft V compared to a typical C shape, it's very comfortable, and I find it's nice to use the neck shape to dig into bending notes. The frets are dressed nicely, and show only minimal wear on the first few frets. Tuners are believed to be Gotoh vintage style tuners. The neck plays great up and down, there's no fret issues on this neck.

The electronics have the Fender Deluxe Drive Stratocaster pickup set. I really like the sound and feel of these pickups. They are hotter than typical Strat pickups, but still sound like single coils. The bridge sounds fuller than standard Strat pickups, it's not ice-picky, and not thin at all. The neck pickup is nice and round, and musical, not too dark. It's not as glassy as a 50's strat pickup would sound, but it's not trying to go for that sound. The in-between positions sound good and Strat-y, but are not as extreme in the quack like vintage pickups would sound. My verdict on the pickups are they do the Strat thing, but give the ability of pushing into more modern drive sounds without being weird.

Overall this is a nice build, the neck fits perfect in the pocket, nothing feels weird or out of place on this guitar. It was definitely not an amateur build.
