This was a mysterious instrument; It took us some research to figure out :)
What you're looking at is a rare version of 1981 Matsumoku-made Westone Thunder Bass. Unlike the usual type 3, it sports two single coil pickups, coupled with a series/parallel switch, allowing you for both the Jazz Bass mode & the humbucker mode of operation.
The condition is very good with strings sitting very low, producing a clear and defined note in every position, the relief being set up correct (albeit, the truss rod is almost bottomed out - it's not an issue that much, because it still allows for relief to be tinkered with in all scenarios), and the electronics working very good. Some dings here and there, but nothing criminal (see the pictures).
The sound is absolutely killer - the parallel mode allows for a well-defined, Warwick-like tone, and the series mode transforms this bass into a full-on metal machine.
This Westone bass comes with the case.
