This is a very cool 60s Kay Galaxie electric guitar in a very nice quality aftermarket modern hardshell case. It plays great and looks great too. We think it’s a 1962 to 1964 model, and it is in very good, clean condition. This is the one with the Barney Kessel “Kleenex Box” pickup. It looks like the back of the neck has been resprayed but we looked at it with a blacklight and the neck appears right and never cracked, so the finish may have just worn off over the 55+ years of this guitars life and it was just respayed. It has a few minor nicks on the body, but of course it is quite old so for the age the condition is superb.
Kay guitars have been seen in the hands of Keith Richards, Jimi Hendrix, Jerry Garcia, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Beck, Joe Walsh, and many others. Elvis Presley's first guitar was a Kay flat-top acoustic. Vintage, rare, collectable, boutique with amazing tone.
