This guitar has a story that must be told. First of all The guitar plays and sounds great. Everything has been upgraded. This guitar came to me in real bad shape. All caused by a nightmare restoration job. This became a personnel challenge to repair this guitar. The work done on this baby is worth 5 times what the guitar will sell for........at least!

Someone took the back of and did a Gorilla super glue clusterf%#* on the whole thing. The original back got destroyed trying to unsuper glue it, so it got a complete new back made of spalted Maple. So after i used the spalted maple I realized it had soft areas in it. (the two front bouts) See cut out the bad spots and replaced them. The back was already glued to the sides. See pic's. Then after I finished the whole guitar i found another bad (soft)area on the back. Then I totally lost it for a second and PUNCHED a perfect fist sized hole in the back. Right between the braces. Ouchy! (see last picture) Hence the square patch of solid Pearwood on the back. See pic's. That's the back side story. This is the repair list.

Complete disassembly. Strip all old coating and refinish the entire guitar with gloss Lacquer. Install Original solid Spruce top with New complete Sitka Spruce X brace system, New Maple back plate with new Spruce bracing(repaired and punched) Remove and reset neck for proper angle. Redo fretboard radius and add a Partial refret using the original frets. New handmade custom Cocobolo bridge and a partial new Cocobolo fretboard tongue was added.(the last 6 frets). New side braces were installed. New bone saddle and nut which is 1 3/4 in. wide. New two pcs. solid Bocote rosewood pick guards. I reused the original binding on the back. The tuners are original and work as they should. The neck at the head had a stress crack which I repaired and I Put a black LUTHIER FLAG there so there is no hiding anything. The neck is ROCK solid. Plays like a dream and sounds REAL good. The soft V neck shape has been slightly reduced to make it feel better, more C shaped & modern (kinda Gibsonlike).

The body is Solid spruce top. The sides are solid Birch and the back is solid spalted maple with patched areas See pic's. The neck is solid Poplar. The headstock still has the original Silvertone logo. see pic's.

The guitar plays and sounds very good definitely a player........with a story, a long one.

Thank and please see my other listings. steve SKR
