Just ran across this 1980 Alvarez Hand Made (stamped into the inside center strip) in Japan. It is a model 5040 and it is in great shape, actually looks like it was never played but it does have some hazing to the finish on the back, but no gouges or dings. The frets have no wear and look new. The protective plastic is still on the pickguard and if peeled off its new underneath. It has nice action and sounds great. It has an original Alvarez chipboard case from back in the day.
