Condition described as Excellent due to its handmade nature. There are small inconsistencies in the rawhide and the joinings of each horn piece and the mouthpiece, but this is a fully functional instrument, and a unique one at that!
I gave it my best go in the video, but I’m definitely not good at it. If you play didgeridoo/yidaki/didjeridu or any brass instrument, you’re probably going to know how to blow into it.
Have you ever seen one of these?! This is a pretty cool horn trumpet, traditionally used in fertility rituals in Peru. I’m not saying you need to use it for that, but I kind of dare you to set the mood with it!
This is akin to a Viking horn or Shofar, but at least 10 times cooler! It’s crafted using multiple pieces of cow horn, bound together with an adhesive and rawhide. This creates a tight joining, which you can feel as you blow through it.
If you deign to hang it on your wall, you’re in luck, as there is a hole in the output horn for a string to go through! But who are we kidding? Though it may be a wall hanger, you’re going to take it down to show your friends. And that’s not to mention the many campaigns which require the blowing akin to the Horn of Valere!
Also be aware that I send this instrument with an alcohol wipe so that there’s no fear of cooties.
