I have 2 Scully 280 Mic Preamps for Sale, which were taken out of a Scully Tape Machine, and modded by a tech to run as mic Pre's on their own. The price is for one unit only.
One of the main things done to them was converting them to run off of their own wall wort power supplies, as opposed to the tape machine power supply.
They are currently passing signal, however I was having some issues with noise, and headroom. I am extremely picky with what gear I rack in my studio, and don't have the time to troubleshoot and try to make these of use in my room.
They likely need a small amount of tech work to get into good condition, however they could be used as is in the meantime.
My price is reflective of what I bought them for, and what I paid to get them working indpendent of the tape machine, and to get them cleaned up after many years of storage from the previous owner.
I know these have huge potential, many other engineers have said they prefer these over their class A neves. Check out those big UTC Transformers mounted on back!
