About This Listing

This is a little slice of American music history right here! 1950’s steel guitar legends like Pete Drake could be heard wafting through American living rooms from a Zenith, there was a Ford in every driveway, and Twinkies lined the cabinets of every paranoid dad’s nuclear fallout shelter.

This Supertone sounds just as insanely good as it looks. It has those beautiful harmonic overtones that shimmer over the top of every note and chord. As you add tremolo and push it harder the natural harmonics stay beautiful as they get louder and more aggressive. Every little micro-nuance of the sound coming out of this instrument sounds fantastic at any dynamic, whether it’s crystal clean or heavily overdriven.

This one has had some professional work done, the original control plate and electronics were replaced with an early 2000's Seymore Duncan P-90 that sounds fantastic. A jack was also added, the originals of these had a cord hard wired which is kind of cool but gets annoying after a while. A new control plate was made out of a pickguard material, I like the contrast of the pickguard against the sunburst body! It plays and sounds great, it's a perfect little lap steel.

The instrument is in great condition, the case is not lol. The case has seen better days but it still does a good job of protecting the instrument and it's cool that it's original and that the two are still together. Great pedal steel!
