ultra-rare Riverhead Phantom Bass in Pearl White. 1980s Japan Glory

Here we have a very rare bird. This is a Riverhead(by Headway) Phantom bass. This is an obscure japanese-made active bass from the 1980s. It was purchased for an 80s band that is now defunct.

For its age, it's in GREAT condition. It's set up now with very low action, and the G string struggles a bit at this action, which means it needs some fretwork. There is still plenty of fret left. they're jumbo. Might just be a matter of a couple high frets, or maybe it needs a fret level. Either way, if you raise the action a bit it plays great(I like very tight tolerances).

Electronics work as they should. This preamp distorts a bit, but I understand that's just the case with early 80s active bass technology.

This thing is a ton of fun and a real one of a kind look.

cosmetically, a few blemishes here and there but ultimately super clean.
