Pepe was kind enough to hand deliver this custom B6 Mini Guitar to the store and even do some videos with me explaining and playing the instrument.

An original handmade custom B6 Mini Guitar made by Pepe Romero Jr. This is an absolutely gorgeous sounding, playing, and looking instrument. This is the first custom Mini Guitar from Pepe, and his custom made instruments sell very fast.

Keep in mind that when Pepe makes an instrument he does it all by hand by himself. To have an instrument hand made by one of the best luthiers in the world is priceless.

This is #363 which means it is the #363 instrument that Pepe Romero Jr has ever handmade. Please understand that Pepe Romero Jr is one of the best luthiers of guitars, guileles, and ukulele that is alive today.

Pepe took the musical genius that is inherent in his family, the Romero's, and instead of focusing on being a world case concert musician like his dad, Pepe Romero Sr., he decided to focus on building instruments. 

Besides being my friend and one of the kindest persons you will ever meet, Pepe is fully committed and dedicated to the art of building the best instruments.

Everything on the B6 Mini Guitar is handmade by Pepe Romero Jr himself. There are no CNC machines, no outsourcing of work, it is 100% hand made from the best wood on the planet.

Even the neck is hand carved from a solid piece of Mahogany to get it down to the finely tuned masterpiece that it is. Easy to play, smooth, slim, and super comfortable when playing chords or fingerpicking.

Now the wood...

The top is made from solid German Spruce. The back and sides is solid Walnut. Walnut is not common wood used in many ukuleles but I can tell you that the combination of the Walnut and German Spruce produces the best sound I have ever heard on an instrument before.

The final touch on all of Pepe's handmade instruments is the French Polish that is applied to the wood. The French Polish is a old traditional way of applying the shellac to the instrument to produce the finest finish you will ever see. It's a time consuming process that takes weeks to do as each thin layer of finish is applied one at a time until you have built up at least 30 layers.

The benefits of the French Polish over traditional spray on finishes is it allows the wood to breath producing the most fantastic overtones and brilliance you will hear from an instrument.

The French Polish is a labor of love because of the time, effort and skill required to put it on. Most builders don't do it because it is not cost effective, which is yet another example of the care and dedication Pepe Romero Jr has to making instruments the right way.
