Here for sale we have a Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass Ash in Butterscotch Blonde finish. Made in the USA in 2008 this bass features a bolt-on construction comprising a Select Ash body, Maple neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard.  This guitar is fitted with Chrome hardware including Deluxe String-Thru-Body or Top Load bridge and Hipshot Ultralite tuning machines. A Bone nut is featured, along with a pair of Samarium Cobalt Noiseless single-coil pickups. These are wired to master volume, pickup pan and a 3-band active EQ controls. 

The neck plays well, its Satin finish feeling smooth and easy in the hand and its Modern ‘C’ profile feeling balanced and comfortable under the thumb. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant to the touch and provides a responsive and durable playing surface, whilst the Medium Jumbo frets improve string bending and vibrato feel. Classic Jazz Bass body contours feel familiar in the arms, and provide a comfortable playing experience in both standing and seated positions. Dual cutaways and a rolled neck heel offer uninhibited access to the upper register, meaning you can make use of the full range of the instrument.

The Samarium Cobalt Noiseless pickups have a reasonably modern voicing, which while not straying too far from traditional Jazz Bass tone, offers a massive reduction in noise. The thick low end is complemented by driving mids and sparkly top end that helps put your playing front and centre in the mix. The active 3-band EQ provides versatility when it comes to tonal shaping, offering more variations than is usual with a Jazz bass. The frequency bands still sound musical and subtle to the ear, allowing you to boost a given frequency fairly heavily without any harshness.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition. A crack can be seen from the E string tuning peg screw which wraps around the side of the headstock. This has been repaired in house and we do not expect this to worsen with regular use. The top front edge shows a small scrape to the finish.

Neck: Overall very good condition. Very small indentations can be felt to the bass side of the neck behind the 6th and 10th frets, not affecting playability. Small markings can be seen on both edges of the fingerboard.

Body: Overall excellent condition. Very light scratching to the front face is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. The pickguard shows milder scratching, consistent with light playwear. The rear face shows minor scratching and indentation, not piercing the finish. This is most apparent to the bass side edge of the lower bout.   

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any future work the new owner may wish to perform. 

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod Condition: Fully functional & can be adjusted

Hardware Condition: Fully functional with light signs of wear. The pickguard has had a hole drilled so that the truss rod is more easily accessible. This has been completed to a satisfactory standard. 

Structural Condition: No concerns or issues to note

Height of the string from the 12th Fret- Treble 2.5mm - Bass 3mm
