George Benson, the celebrated American jazz and R&B guitarist, born March 22, 1943 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is also a singer and songwriter. His exceptional career spans several decades, beginning in the 1960s as a jazz guitarist.
In the 1970s, Benson enjoyed immense success fusing jazz with R&B and pop. His landmark 1976 album, "Breezin'", marked a turning point, winning several Grammy Awards. His guitar virtuosity and distinctive voice made him an influential figure in contemporary music.
Ibanez had the opportunity to collaborate with George Benson to create a series of hollow-body guitars, marketed under the brand name. The signature series began in 1977 with the iconic GB10 model, marking the first artist signature model produced by Ibanez.
