About This Listing

The ODS-II represents Andy Fuchs' goal of bringing over 15 years of design development and customer feedback on the original Overdrive Supreme platform into the next millennium. Developed alongside the new ODS-Classic, the ODS-II is the most versatile D-style tonal platform on the global market. Although inspired by classic D-Style amplifiers, it improves and improves on many aspects and eliminates many of the shortcomings of the original iconic amplifiers that inspired us.

Channel one features a dedicated tone stack, dual gain boosts, Brite, Deep and EQ switches, as well as a mid boost and mid shift pull pot. A channel master volume allows for low to medium gain overdrive.

Channel 2 features a dedicated tone stack, dual gain boosts, Brite, Deep and EQ switches, as well as a mid boost and mid shift pull pot. A separate gain stage has drive, master and overdrive tone controls. This channel has tons of gain on demand, ranging from the mild low-medium gain D-style tones of channel one to searing, saturated tones at higher gain.

The global master controls the overall gain after each channel is set to its own level. Accent control adds high-end shimmer. The Spin Digital Reverb offers separate level and decay controls, allowing for warm, deep, studio-quality reverb tones without sacrificing reverb pan variability and handling sensitivity.

There are two FX loops on the back: the standard Fuchs loop (series/parallel line/pedal level with send and return controls) and a secondary loop (line level series only/pre-power insert) , a separate bias pot for each power tube is provided and an accurate digital display of the bias readings is provided. An IEC mains input (globally switchable mains voltage internally), AC and DC fuses, 4-8-16 ohm outputs via 5 sockets. Ethercon connections for foot switches. The standard 6-way footswitch controls per-channel gain boost, per-channel mid-boost, reverb and channel switching. Optional Artist footswitch available, adds loop bypass to each loop, operates a second gain boost to each channel, and adds a mute function for use with amp switcher based rigs. Half power (where applicable) and a three-stage low-off-high fan switch round out the extensive features on the back.

The ODS-II captures all the tones that made the original Fuchs ODS amps legendary, but allows enormous tonal flexibility via fully dedicated, separate clean and overdrive channels, each with their own dedicated tone controls, midrange and gain. Boosts and master volumes.
