Dingwall 4-String NG2 - Black Metallic w/ Maple fingerboard Lightweight! - 8 lb / 2 oz

This is the LAST of the original 4-String 'NG2' model - offering the 'pure' design of the original, iconic 4-string StingRay, but with all the 'unfair advantages' of a Dingwall.

Of course, this 4-string model has a smaller, more 'nimble' neck -  many bassists who prefer the traditional feel of a 4-string neck, value this improved playability. Also, this model is the best option available, for the 'Nashville' (B to D) tuning. (Plus, we will convert the bass to this tuning, at no charge!)

Using the Novax "fanned-fret" multi-scale design, these instruments offer the same superb low-frequency punch, clarity, and superior tuning-accuracy that Dingwall has brought to the electric-bass world for decades. The combination of this breakthrough innovation, along with custom-designed pickups, electronics and hardware, produces a level of performance that has to be heard, to be believed.

The NG3 model shares these superior construction details with the standard Combustion models:

The NG models use the Darkglass Tone Capsule preamp (designed in consultation with Dingwall) - this unique preamp offers both low- and high-midrange controls (500 Hz and 2.8 kHz), which provides the player with a remarkable range of outstanding tones, from every pickup-setting. Like all the Combustion basses, the NG2 uses a special four-position rotary pickup-selector switch instead of the usual ‘blend’ control. This design adds an extra ‘series’ setting, which provides a substantial increase in output and a strong midrange-boost to the tone. Think 'All 3 Jazz Bass sounds, plus a Stingray Bass' - all on steroids.  Those are the four tones...

Craftsmen at Dingwall check the final assembly, mill the frets, and perform all the set-up details, on every instrument. This manufacturing-process saves so much cost, that you pay less than half the price of a Canadian-made "real" Dingwall. In our eyes, that"s one hell of a bargain.
