B&G Private Build Little Sister Black Widow 2016 Semi Hollow Electric Guitar

Here for sale we have an exceptional Private Build B&G Little Sister Semi Hollow Electric Guitar in a sublime Black Widow finish. Made in Tel-Aviv Israel in 2016, B&G private build guitars are hand-built using the traditional techniques from the ‘Golden Era’ of electric lutherie, delivering a vintage feel, look and sound. This guitar features a semi hollow construction comprising of a hand selected African Mahogany body pair with a Maple top, a African Mahogany neck that has been hand carved into a ‘Soft V’ profile, which has been matched with a 20-fret Indian Rosewood fingerboard. The hardware featured on this guitar consists of a B&G Solid Brass ABR bridge and a Solid Brass B&G Tailpiece, the tuning machines are B&G Delta Tuners that are reminiscent of the guitars that B&G have studied from the ‘Golden Era’. The pickups are a pair of B&G Hand Wound P90 pickups, each pickup is wound by hand with AWG42 lacquered enamel copper wire, powered by in-house cast Alnico II and Alnico V magnets and covered by B&G handmade brass covers that are wired to a master volume, master tone, and a three-way pickup selector.

The Little Sister design is a reinterpretation of the Pre-War acoustics. B&G’s goal was to create a classic yet ‘fresh’ and unique instrument, as easy and cosy to play as those almost ‘Mythical’ guitars. Hence the neck joint at the 14th fret, slotted headstock.

The hand carved ‘Soft V’ Mahogany neck sits comfortably in the hand, providing fluid movement and ergonomic thumb placement up and down the register, whilst also providing a very vintage inspired feel. The Gloss finish to the rear of the neck provides a comfortable, smooth playing surface, along with the Rosewood fingerboard offering a luxurious and pleasant feeling under the fingers, yielding a smooth playing surface. The 12” radius ensures that finger styles of playing are catered for as well chordal styles and with the body cutaway providing unobstructed access to the higher frets. The compact size and lines of the body ensure this instrument is comfortable and practical to play in seated or standing positions.The semi-hollow body design offers great responsiveness and dynamics making the user feel ‘connected’ to the musical experience.

The carved, semi-hollow body delivers unique acoustic features. It achieves a delicate balance between body resonance and resistance to feedback, this results in an organic vocal quality that is tactile and responsive to the player's touch. Traditional hide glue has been used for the neck joint, fish glue for the frets and Urea Formaldehyde for the body, this creates a thinner layer between the different parts of the body that provides better energy transfer and provides fantastic resonances that you can really feel. Private Build pickups are hand-wound to ensure that specific nuances are met to deliver a vintage tone. The P90’s deliver a warm and full-bodied tone that is surrounded by a translucent halo of harmonics. P-90 pickups sound thick and raw, with a solid output that pushes the front end of an amp nicely. The lows are full and tight sound, the midrange is powerful, easily cutting through a mix, along with the biting high frequencies. The pickups are very dynamic, more so than the slightly compressed nature of humbuckers, while offering more power than is usually associated with single coils.
