About This Listing

This is in really nice condition guitar with the original hard case I’ve had it checked out and it’s in good working order. There are 2 tuning knobs are a little bit stiff, no scratches just natural aged look. The color is black. All pots were cleaned with electrical contact cleaner pick ups work properly. I put new elixir strings on it. Guitar plays fine, intoned correctly, neck straight.

Product Overview
Only 453 Martin GT-70 specimens were manufactured during the model's short run. Martin got into the electric guitar game in earnest in 1961 and eventually realized it was smarter to focus on its legacy acoustic models in 1968. A few other solid body electric models followed later in the '70s and again in the '00s, but these remain novelties.

The Martin GT-70 featured a semi-hollow Maple body and top with a Mahogany neck and Rosewood fingerboard. Two exposed DeArmond pickups provided the tone, while a Bigsby-type vibrato acted on strings with a 24.9" scale length.

Due to their rarity and interesting provenance as a Martin electric guitar, the GT-70 and its double cutaway brother, the GT-75, are both sought after by niche collectors.
