Today, Lawman Guitars Proudly Presents…
A beautiful historic Guitar. This is a 1940 USA Open Headstock Regal Parlor Guitar with a softshell case …Model number 501 as we found in a 1940 Regal Catalog...what a cool guitar!
We found this very model guitar in a 1940 Regal Catalog so we are calling it a 1940. No serial number or dates on the guitar.
The guitar is parlor size at 13 inches at the lower bout and 37 total inches in length. It has a 24 inch scale neck and the nut measures 1 3/4 inches. Finger pickers will like this one. Nice soft V neck profile and it sounds loud and proud.
Bright brass frets still have plenty of life. The original bridge is still with this old timer and in great shape. We fixed one small top crack and stabilized the braces. Its ladder braced. Beautiful shaded Faux Tiger Stripe top that is Spruce with Mahogany back and sides.
Our Tech did a great job setting this old timer up with a new set of 11 guage light Phosphorus Bronze Dr Ducks Strings. It plays great now. We lower the original bridge a little to give is better action.
This historic guitar is ready to play out of the box. New strings and it sounds great. It would look great on anyones wall or in your Vintage Guitar collection, but I really hope someone gets it to play. It,s a great guitar!
The Original Lifton Soft Shell Case is as nice as the guitar. All latches, hinges and original handle are still with it. Even the accessory box is still working! No musty odors or mildew in this case and it fits the guitar great! Includes the cool Case Candy of Home Sweet Home which is from 1931!
Sold as-is as its vintage and used.. Thanks for respecting that.
