1870 Adolphe Sax tenor saxophone with serial number 35738. Here is an original Adolphe Sax tenor saxophone that just arrived here at DC Sax. This sax is almost 150 years old and it has survived remarkably well through the years. The bell stamp and logo still looks excellent, and all characters are clearly visible. The sax looks like it was recently restored, and it can play from top to bottom, although with some difficulty. This era of Adolphe Sax saxophones generally plays well in tune at A=440. This sax will need a trip to the repairman before it's in top playing condition.
