Rare Sunn 412 4x12 Guitar Cabinet (Sceptre, Coliseum)

All original Sunn 4x12. 8ohms.

I don't know too much about the specifics of this cabinet except to say that other listings for the exact same cab put the year somewhere between 1968 and 1971.

I recall reading somewhere that these cabs were originally configured as 6x10 or 2x15 bass cabs, but someone at the company figured four 12" speakers would fit in a staggered diagonal configuration as well, so a handful of leftover cabs were converted to 4x12's such as you see here. Whether or not that's entirely true, I don't know for sure, so don't quote me on that. I've found info leading me to believe they were sold with Sunn Sceptre or Coliseum PA heads.

I've taken the back off to confirm that these are original Sunn "Guitar Transducer" square back speakers, but I didn't take photos. I'll update this listing within a few days when I find time to take the back off and get those pictures taken.

This thing is loud and punchy. I was using it with a 60w Ampeg V3 (B25) and V2 and it handled them both beautifully.

Tolex is in great shape aside from what looks like a possible cigarette burn on the top (just a slightly melted patch of plastic, doesn't go all the way through), and the grille clothe is relatively clean and free from tears.

Shipping would probably be absolutely ridiculous so I'm listing this as "local pickup only" for the time being. I could more than likely meet a buyer within 200km of Lethbridge Alberta, but please send me a message with advanced warning if you plan on driving through to check it out, my schedule isn't all that forgiving unfortunately so we'd have to plan it out in advance.
