This is a VINTAGE 1960's TEISCO DEL REY ELECTRIC GUITAR. Made in JAPAN. It is an ET-220 model with 2 SPECTRUM PICKUPS and tremolo. Also called the SPECTRUM II model. It is a solid and attractive classic Japanese guitar. Really sweet for being over 50 YEARS OLD. 100% complete and mostly original. Includes the trashy period correct non-original chip board case you see in the pictures. Fits the guitar without having to remove the tremolo arm.
A previous owner etched personal information into the neck plate. Best I can tell it was a Xmas gift in 1980. I will include a clean neck plate from my parts drawer in the event you want to change it. I personally think, any history about a vintage guitar is cool, so left it. There is some finish damage (above the nut) from being left on a hanger for too long. Everything else is just normal bumps and wear. Most people would never notice, but this guitar has had some repair work and replaced parts. When I got the guitar the finger board was lifting from the neck. That has been expertly repaired. I also added a new after-market tremolo arm and a new headstock logo.
I have completely serviced this guitar... Cleaned the body and neck, cleaned and conditioned the fingerboard, cleaned and polished the frets (some have been previously leveled and dressed), cleaned the controls (no scratchy pots), adjusted and set up with new Ernie Ball 10-52 gauge strings. You may want to tweak it for your style of play and comfort, but by all standards... READY TO PLAY!
The following is common sense stuff, but needs mentioned:
-If you have a concern with any item purchased, CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY by phone or email. I always offer a full refund of the purchase amount (less shipping). You should not have to live with something you are unhappy with for any reason. If you alter, modify, change or "repair" the item in anyway without my consent, you are accepting the item "as is", at the price paid.
-If you receive an item that has been damaged in shipping, CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY and save all the packaging. We will work through the claim together until things are right.
-I can ship almost anywhere, but free shipping or a fixed shipping price is for the contiguous 48 states ONLY. If you have a foreign address, use an APO, live in Alaska, Puerto Rico, etc., message me for a shipping price BEFORE you buy. Due to the cost and risk of shipping I do not accept returns from outside the US. Once the package is delivered to the carrier, the foreign buyer is responsible for the item, including but not limited to taxes, fees, customs issues, delays, damage, lose, duty, etc.
I have sold thousands of guitars over the last 25 years. This one is from my personal collection. It is part of my estate.
