After a decade of rapid versioning and tiers of the Explorer, Gibson went back to its roots in 1990, pulling the new Explorer's design from the original 1976 re-release. This design would remain in production under various names until the mid-2010's, with the first switch happening in 2002 with the "X-Plorer" re-brand.
According to the serial number this was made in 1998. Mahogany body with a slim mahogany neck and an ebony fingerboard, it weighs 4.3kg's. Dual (496R and 500T) humbuckers, two volume and one tone control, tune-o-matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece with Gibson stamped tuners.
Received a full setup and service prior to listing including a fret polish, fretboard clean and overall buff/polish. Frets are shiny and smooth and the neck is straight with a fully functional truss. Appears to be all original.
