Istanbul Agop Mehmet pre-split 18” flat ride 1990s

Here’s a unique and highly musical flat ride. It’s from the late 80s or early 90s, before Agop passed away and the company was split in two by his and Mehmet’s sons.

It’s traditionally lathed and hand hammered, with three rivets installed. 18” and 2015 grams, so it’s on the heavier side, giving it a clearly defined stick ping and more projection than you get from thinner flats. It also has an astonishingly easy and smooth crash sound, and you can even get a bell sound (without a bell) if you strike it right. Check out the video!

It’s in very good condition, with no cracks, dings, or issues of any kind. It has dark patina, stick marks, and light surface wear. I’ve never heard a flat quite like this one.
