***Flavour Text: Episode I ***
Handcrafted early 2023 in the Netherlands by me, Musician/Producer Chuck Burgess, AKA ‘r3ject’, LARPing as a Luthier/Builder. This guitar is one of four included in the first run of what I’m calling the 'Apocalypse Series’.
As the idea of r3ject Guitars spontaneously manifested itself into existence during 2020s first pandemic lockdown in the Netherlands, by me fixing up a dissasembled (presumably to slather another couple cans of Krylon on the poor thing) ‘96 MIK Squier Aniversary Strat gifted to me as a project by it’s sole owner after absolutely thrashing it around the local underground punkrock/squatters scene for 25 years in a band, in the process ghetto refinishing it about 7 or 8 times building this awful layercake of dollar store rattlecan paint like some sort of 90s/early 00s archeological counter-culture core sample, it seemed fitting to give this first collection an Apocalyptic theme.
The first set features two T and two S type guitars based on QC Failed kit guitars saved from the factory Fuckit Bucket and rezzed to full health in a toolshed tucked away in an undisclosed location somewhere in Arnhem’s historic Sint Marten borough. All 4 have stained flame maple veneers, black binding and Ash bodies. But that's where the similarities end. They all feature a unique pickup configuration as well as a bespoke Unicorn Spit stains giving them their striking visage.
Signifying the four horsemen ushering in the end of days, this set is to be followed by an eclectic collection of handcrafted post-apocalyptic relic guitars all with their perspective unique spin in the not too distant future. Ranging from roadworn to absolutely trashed, in both unique and familiar shapes with specs running the gamut from sensible, period correct configs to some alternate timeline type batshit insane takes on the relic’d guitar. Did i mention I’m actually not a guitar player? Anywhoo...
Tl;Dr: due to a confluencing cacophony of compounding unforseen circumstances, untreated mental illness and global pandemic induced idle hands I’m a luthier and guitar builder now and the first set of my handcrafted guitars just dropped. Go cop baby!
Now without further ado...
