I'm a full time luthier, this is one of the project guitars I picked up to work on between client work.
A great vintage electric guitar. They were made by Kay and branded with diferent names. This guitar was refinished and someone stuck an Alvarez trussrod cover on it. I think it is cool so I left it.
This guitar has a very rustic look. I preserved the look but did a full one over on it to get it it in great playing order.
Trussrod Adjusted, nut cleaned polished and greased.
Frets have been leveled, crowned and polished for low action with no dead notes.
Nut and saddle slots have been properly filed and adjust for easy playing low action.
Pots have been replaced.
Final set has this guitar playing as good as new new guitar off the shelf.
Way cooler than any new guitars in this price range.
Replacing the tuners would be an easy upgrade for someone later on. But it is ready to gig as is.
The price reflects th eamount of work done and lack of need for future work after you get it.
These are great bargains compared to more famous brand Electric solid bodies from the same era.
