I'm parting with my beloved Mule to claw back space in my studio. It's the no-longer available, single-cone steel version.
I bought it used in 2022 and a previous owner has installed a National thinline pickup. It must be pointed out that the installation involved two-way adhesive tape, as best I can tell, and the lead is exposed on the face before ducking into the f-hole. There's a jack at the usual spot. Sounds fantastic despite the unorthodox assembly. The hand-rest at the center of the cone cover plate is missing a screw. See photos for both. Other than that, it's absolutely stunning with the sound to match.
See attached video for a sonic tour.
Guitar weighs in at a little over 8.8 lbs.
Waiting time for a new Mule Resonator is at least a year, and they are no longer making the single cone option. Single cone resonators project a bit more and have a warm and clear quality and this is a stellar example. The unique aging and patina process that Matt Eich and his team in Saginaw Michigan achieves on this model is stunning.

From Mule:
"In normal acoustic guitars the differences between woods and pickups are noticeable but subtle. Many times, those differences are too subtle to create change in how a player approaches the guitar and that can lead to a revolving door of buying and selling instruments that are too similar. Inspiring tone is something that produces a sound that wakes up your ear and your creativity. That's the value in having one of these instruments. You will hear new things, make different musical choices, write new songs. After playing a Mule you hear other guitars with fresh ears, make different musical choices, write new songs. Round and round it goes. It's inspiring tone."
