Style of Sound and Playability:  Very light, loud and fast playing guitar.  Exceptionally bright trebles with clear basses.  Wonderful projection.  Well suited to both classical and flamenco repertoire. 

Anselmo Solar Gonzalez was born in 1918 in Valle de Nalon.  His skills were already winning prizes at expositions for his guitars in 1938. A short time after he moved to Madrid, he went to work with the great Santos Hernandez. After the death of Santos Hernandez he continued to build guitars for Hernandez’s widow together with Marcelo Barbero until 1948.After that he opened his own workshop and stayed in Madrid until his death building high end handmade guitars during many years.  This guitar is one of his great masterpieces, made in 1964.
