This is a fabulous electric guitar of a very high quality and rare, so these hardly ever appear for sale.
It was made by the Maya Musical Instrument Company in Kobe Japan in the late seventies or very early eighties.
The body is of solid wood and with a walnut finish.
It has twin open humbuckers, each with volume and tone controls plus a three-way pickup selector switch.
The bridge/tailpiece is in brass as are the adjustable saddles - real quality.
The neck is a set neck and the fretboard has 22 frets - and the headstock holds the three on a side gold tuners, the ''El Maya'' logo, the place and company of manufacture and the model name which is stamped on the truss rod cover.
It is a stunning guitar with the ''German carve'' around the top of the body (like many Rickenbackers have) - black top binding and gold hardware - and is a great player with lots of sustain.
It shows a few marks, and a crack neck that was repaired (see pics).
The guitars plays and sounds just amazing and perfectly in tune !
Hardcase included.
