Up for sale is my lefty '83 Ibanez Artist AR-100L "The ultimate expression of craftsmanship" crafted in Japan. Double cutaway mahogany body with flame maple top. Ibanez Gibraltar II Bridge and Quick Change Tailpiece. Sure grip knobs on two volume and two tone controls. Ibanez Velvetune II tuners hold tune perfectly. I can't say how much I dig this guitar but I never find myself playing it, mostly because I'm a wiggle stick kind of guy.
All original with the exception of the pickups. I replaced the original Ibanez pickups (brass covered Super 58 pickups with split coil will be included in the sale) with some Seymour Duncan Seth Lover (SH-55B/N) 4 wire pickups. The guitar is equipped with push/push tone pots to switch the pickups from humbucker to single coil. The tone controls are wired correctly for left handed operation but the volume pots are still backwards like the original setup. I considered switching them around but I never got around to it. The Seth Lovers can make this puppy sing like the angels.
I would consider selling this without the Seth Lovers and putting the originals back in but I would only drop the price by $200 for the removal and replacements. I seriously like these pickups but they are still being produced at a fairly strong clip.
This has been played so much I asked my luthier to add some wood (dust) to fill a concave area in the first 3 frets visible in one of the photos. Never effected playing but while I was having her run through by Jimmy at J. Gravity Strings, I asked him about it and he said it would be a good idea to keep it form getting any worse.
Some buckle rash on the back and a few dings here and there and you have a beautiful "actually relic'd" sunburst top guitar. On stage and in the lights this baby is gorgeous! All electronics work as expected or explained. Tone machine!
Comes with original hard shell case.
