About This Listing

[ This item is a previous rental and is in complete working condition, any issues are cosmetic only. There may be surface scratches, stickers, and/or velcro applied - but it could also be completely mint. In nearly all cases, the original box and any other originally-included accessories or materials are included. ]

Walrus Audio’s Vanguard puts a new twist on an old idea, with an emphasis on the word “twist.” The old idea is combining two independent phase shifters in one box. But the Vanguard’s tones and features are quite distinct from such analog precedents as the 1970s Mu-Tron Bi-Phase, the rare but revered Lovetone Doppelganger from the ’90s, and MXR’s simple but effective Phase 99. Instead, Vanguard is an unapologetically digital effect. It doesn’t replicate the cushy, immersive sound of a good analog phaser, but has an edgier modern character. And it offers an array of options you won’t find on most analog phasers, including true stereo operation, remote and expression controls, and fresh-sounding bi-phased colors.

Product Overview
The Walrus Audio Vanguard Dual Phase combines two phasers to give you the ultimate phasing capacity, from a subtle tinge to wild and wobbly, giving you exactly what it says it will. With the Vanguard, you can choose between three selectable modes to shape your tone, sending your signal first through a ten-stage phaser and then through an optional second phaser, which in turn contains three different voicings. The Vanguard’s eight knobs give you ultimate tweakability, allowing you to dial in whatever crazy (or not-so-crazy) phase sounds you want.
