Premium customised at the factory with Super 400 neck and jacaranda body.

A very rare J-200 custom built in the 50s.

This 1956 J-200 was built to the neck specs of Gibson's top-of-the-range archtop Super 400.
In addition, the body was made of Brazilian rosewood to pre-war specifications.
It is a premium piece that can rarely be seen.

The orange label used since '55 is marked Custom,
It shows that it has been specially customised at the Kalamazoo factory.

This kind of customisation can sometimes be seen on higher-end 60s models such as Hummingbirds and Dubs, which are very rare and exciting items for vintage collectors.

The flagship Gibson archtop "Super 400", also known as the "King of Jazz Guitars".

The "King of the Flat Tops", the "J-200", still reigns as the king of acoustic guitars.

The matching of king with king is fascinating to behold.
We are honoured to have come across such a regundary piece in this day and age.

The finish on the body top has a very clean look with a solid black and red contrast.
The spruce grain glimpsed over the black finish is also very nice.

The body back is made of a calm quarter-sawn Hakaranda. The body sides are also very cool with Hakaranda-like lines.
The current Gibson Montana factory does not handle Brazilian rosewood, so this is a spec that can only be experienced in vintage guitars.

The pickguard is a thicker type with a flower pattern from the late 50s. The Hakaranda bridge has another great line. The bridge pin has been replaced with a wood type with a pearl embedded in it.

The neck is set into the body for maximum glamour.
The large head with split diamond inlay is equipped with Cruson seal fast tuners, and the fingerboard cell is 7-ply, which is extravagant.
The neck flame is also clearly shaded and has beauty and power.

A vintage J-200 with the clarity of Hakaranda sound, this is a gem of a guitar.
