This is a 1997 made in Germany Warwick Streamer LX 4-string bass with a solid AAA Flamed Maple body in a stunning high polish Honey Violin finish. This bass has the sought after all Wenge neck, which plays like butter. The neck profile is thin and fast (Jazz bass like) > UNLIKE the Warwick basses manufactured between 2001-2009, which had big and fat necks and are commonly referred to as a "baseball bat" type neck profile. Also, the Wenge neck has a smooth satin finish > so no neck drag. It features the original Warwick Brass Just-A-Nut I, which has an individual adjustable height screw for each string. The Warwick 3-D bridge can be adjusted and locked to accommodate your ideal string height, string spacing and intonation. The truss rod has no issues and the frets are in good shape. All of this adjustment capability enables you to fine tune the set up of this bass exactly to your liking. The bass is currently set up with low action and no buzz.

This bass is completely stock including the MEC Gold Active P/J pickups and MEC Active 2-band preamp. The controls are set up as follows: Master Volume (with push/pull to activate or bypass the active preamp), Pickup Balance, Bass Control (boost/cut),  Treble Control (boost/cut). The flexibility of the active MEC pickups and onboard preamp enables you to be able to achieve a wide variety of tones anywhere from a Precision bass to a Jazz bass to everything in between. The bass has been played for 18 years so the aged wood provides a really sweet sounding tone, like you would get from a vintage Fender bass as opposed to a new Fender bass. It is warm and clear when played finger style with some bite when played slap style. Be sure to check out the attached YouTube video with Andy Irvine of Warwick for a demo of how the Streamer LX sounds.

These nineties Warwick basses are considered the "Golden Era" basses for Warwick. This bass is in great condition other than a few minor nicks which are shown in the photos and some indentations in the finish that wouldn't show up in the pictures. As is common with MEC Gold pickups, the gold "MEC" logos on the pickups have faded. There is also some string wear on the pickups from having been played all these years. Overall the bass is in very good condition for its age. There are absolutely no issues as far as sound, playability and adjustment capability.
If you're looking at this, you probably know that the Golden Era Warwicks such as this are pretty hard to come by these days. This bass is equivalent to the current Custom Shop Streamer LX model and made at the same factory that is now called the Warwick Custom Shop in Germany. Currently the street price for a new bass in this model is between $2,800-$4,000!!! So this Streamer LX is a steal, especially in as great condition as this one is! This bass looks really good for being nearly 20 years old so snatch her up while you can! Included is a brand new top of the line Warwick Premium Line Plus Rockbag which I just purchased that still has the original hang tags attached to it (a $100 value). The Rockbag has never been gigged or even left my home for that matter! Also included are some Dunlop strap locks to use with the recessed strap buttons. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have about the bass. Thanks for looking!
Here are a description and some specs from Warwick:

Crafted from select flamed maple, the Streamer LX is precision cut and hand-shaped with meticulous attention to detail unmatched by any other bass in any price range. The concave back is curved inward, making it uniquely comfortable to wear. The body is overflowing with curves and contours making it one of the most fluid body shapes in the Warwick family. The MEC P/J pickups combined with all of the fine craftsmanship make this bass a serious workhorse for the most discriminating players.
