This is a completely hand-crafted flamenco blanca guitar by the Madrid-based luthier Juan Alvarez. Juan Miguel Alvarez del Olmo born in Madrid in 1960 is the son of Juan Alvarez Gil (1932-2001), a friend of Marcelo Barbero from whose advice he benefited enormously. Juan Miguel began working with his father in 1977, but because Juan Miguel has a B.A. in aeronautical engineering, his approach to guitar making is methodical—paying careful attention of the guitar’s geometry, consistency of materials with the aim of getting the kind of sound he really wants, one with the right balance between basses and trebles, perfect intonation, and comfortable action.

The Professional F-AV-2 model is a blanca with spruce top and traditional cypress back and sides. It is one of Juan Alvarez's premier models of professional flamenco guitars. The sound is incredible -- deep and booming in the basses, biting and crisp in the trebles, but balanced throughout. It's strong mid range would almost make you think this was a negra. I played flamenco on this, but tonally it would also work well for classical and jazz.

Comes with hard case.
