Here we find a guitar made by Antonio Marín Montero in 2013 when the master was exactly 80 years old.
A spruce and Brazilian Rosewood guitar, which is the best known and most popular wood configuration in Marín Montero's guitars.
Wonderful sound, full, bright, powerful, balanced. We did not find any note in the whole tessitura of the guitar that has a different balance. Very comfortable to play and with an excellent sound projection. In short we can say that it is a prototype guitar of the type of guitar for which Antonio Marin is known all over the world.
The guitar is in excellent condition. Very slight nail marks difficult to see with the naked eye.
No cracks and no restorations on this guitar except as you can see in the photo there is a different grain of about 3 cm on the side of the fretboard on the top. This is a repair that was done in Montero's own workshop on a small crack that appeared on that side of the joint between the fingerboard and top. The repair is excellently done, it seems just to be a slightly darker natural grain of the top in that part. And that in any case in no way affects the original sound of the guitar or anything.
The quality of the woods, as is always the case with Antonio's guitars, is exceptional. With the addition of a dark light drawing in the shape of a spider on the back that gives a special beauty and personality to the guitar. It also matches with the wood patterns we find on the sides.
The top again we find medullary xrays that extends along the whole length of it completing the great quality of the material used in this guitar.
The craftsmanship and mastery of technique in shaping the wood of the Master can be seen in detail throughout the guitar. BSuch as the head or purfling joints.
The varnish on some guitars over time develops a very nice vintage colour that gives the guitar great beauty and this is what we have found here as you can see in the photos with that particular burnt orange.
An excellent price for an example of a Marín Montero guitar so much in demand and appreciated in our years and which belongs to one of the best moments of the Maestro's career as a guitar maker.
