The Pat Metheny signature axe, out of the highly regarded FujiGen factory in Japan is a hollow body (though slightly thinner than your average jazz box) with cutaways with almost SG-like horns that embellish a beautiful and distinct aesthetic .
It features a maple top, back and sides with a set mahogany neck and ebony fretboard. Adorning the bound fretboard are 22 medium-jumbo frets and beautiful pearl/acrylic and abalone block fret position markers, while the stylish headstock also sports a striking inlay. This particular model has been finished beautifully with a natural gloss finish.
In the pickup section we have a pair of Silent 58 humbuckers with gold covers, individual volume controls and a master tone, as well as a 3 way switch to toggle positions. The scale length is 24 3/4" for ease of expression however with the extra length of string going to the tailpiece you should have a little extra tuning stability than a standard LP or SG.
All in all, a stunning example of guitar making, with a warm sound typical of jazz and blues - it feels good in the hands to play and is sure to turn heads be it through visual or sonic means.
