Here is a ready to ship Avalanche, waiting for your take it away on a Nantucket Sleighride!

The Mountainking Electronics Avalanche is a bass fuzz/overdrive pedal inspired by Felix Pappalardi's live bass tone. Playing an EB-1 bass through cranked, and apparently modified, SUNN amps Felix Pappalardi's sound was very distinct, it had a strong fundamental mixed with a unique high frequency harmonic structure which manifested in a sound that was a combination of distorted Hammond organ and a tenor saxophone. The Avalanche is designed to deliver these same characteristics. It's circuit is unique, it is designed around a resonant low pass filter that reacts to your attack. The low end in left completely intact (actually it boosts the subharmonics) and is soft clipped like you get from a overdriven tube amp, and then the upper harmonic content is created by the circuit being on the edge of oscillation rather than by stacking high gain stages and as a result the Avalanche is dead silent when not playing.

CONTROLS:

DRIVE: control determines how hard the input of the circuit hit.
RESONANT FREQUENCY SELECTORS: These two switches set the frequency of the harmonics. Their effect is subtle and are meant to be used to fine tune harmonics the individual player's rig and personal taste.
DIODE OUTPUT COMPRESSION: This switch allows you to add additional compression and clipping to either the positive or negative half of the waveform at the output of the circuit. This switches effect is also fairly subtle and again is intended to help fine tune the circuit to suit the individual player's rig and personal taste.
AMPLITUDE: This control is your volume control and there is plenty of it on tap!

The Avalanche, like most Mountainking Electronics pedals, can be powered with 9V DC to 18V DC power supply. Higher voltage levels (18V max.) will increase the amount of gain available, add to the dynamic range of the pedal by decreasing the amount of compression and will yield an overall crisper, more articulate sound.

The Avalanche is currently a custom shop build only so it doesn't have printed graphics, only labels.

While most Mountainking pedals will work equally well with both guitar and bass, the Avalanche does not work well on guitar (the skinny stringed type) as it needs the low frequencies and signal strength of a bass guitar to do it's thing properly so FOR BASS GUITAR LOVER'S ONLY ;)

If you have any questions about the Avalanche or any other Mountainking pedal please let me know.

I ship within 4 days of receiving payment and I ship via USPS priority mail service.

Thank you,Alan
