One of approximately 600 ever made, this D-28 Golden Era is as good a dreadnought as Martin ever built in any era. This example is from 2000, the second year of production, and features a premium Adirondack spruce top and a stunning set of Brazilian rosewood for the back and sides. It boasts several vintage style appointments, including forward-shifted scalloped Adirondack spruce X-bracing, a comfortable modified-V shaped mahogany neck, and a compensated bone through saddle. It sounds both tremendously powerful and immaculately clear, and has the headroom to handle even the heaviest right hand in the business.
This guitar is equipped with aftermarket electronics, combining a clip-on condenser microphone (possibly Audio-Technica) with a Fishman under-saddle transducer in stereo to reproduce the true acoustic sound of the guitar at gig volumes. The guitar will ship with a stereo instrument cable and an outboard Fishman Pocket Blender preamp as accessories included in the sale.
Overall condition is excellent, with some finish wear on the back of the neck and a couple small top dings on the lower treble bout. With a fresh setup and fretwork from the Dusty Strings technicians, this exceptional Martin is dialed-in and raring to go.

About us:
At Dusty Strings, we thoroughly inspect each new and used instrument prior to offering it for sale and take whatever steps we believe are necessary to ensure it will perform its best for most players. Our standards are exceptionally high. For new instruments, that means we make minor adjustments as needed, for good playability, but that instruments with fundamental flaws are returned to their manufacturer without going for sale. For used instruments, we perform whatever cleaning, restringing, adjustments, or repairs that are needed for them to perform their best.
The result of our attention to detail is that when you first take your newly purchased instrument out of its case, it will be ready to play. Does this mean the instruments will satisfy your particular sensibilities or account for settling into its new environment? Perhaps not, but those issues fall in the realm of custom setup, something that our professional repair shop is happy to help with if you live within visiting distance. If you live outside our area, we’d recommend a visit to your favorite local luthier, who will be able to help.
