Vintage Sears "Silvertone 1448" Electric Guitar w/Tube Amp-In Case
A nice clean example of this guitar
Original case in good condition
Action nice and low-professionally set up.
This early 60's Silvertone 1448 made by Danelectro is a one pickup, amp-in-case model. This guitar is a masonite over pine construction with a black silver flake finish, a single coil lipstick tube-style pickup, in-line scoop headstock, Brazilian rosewood fretboard, fixed four-way adjustable chromed brass bridge with a Brazilian rosewood saddle, a metal nut, a white masonite pickguard on which the knobs and input jack are located and white tolex binding.
The short scale, steel reinforced straight neck, and the fast action on this guitar make it a real joy to play. This guitar is also about five pounds so it is easy to carry from gig to gig and it is balanced perfectly for playing.
This guitar has a single coil clear, clean quality with a warm, punchy bridge pickup tone that is good for rock and roll, funk, country, blues, soul, etc.
There are two pots for volume and tone.
Not original black plastic tone or volume knobs . All of the electronics are clean and fully functional.
The original tuners are open-backed.
110-120V Volt amp-all orig valves x 3
Ready for 110v use. A 'step-down' transformer will be required for use on 220/240v supplies.
I have just recently tested the amp- it used to play fine Ive owned it since 2009 but now all tubes light up but no sound from speaker in the case
I will do have a local amp doctor check it out.
