Each Fano Oltre series guitar is handbuilt in the USA using an old-growth North American Alder body, maple neck and a nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The result is a resonant, lively instrument crafted with care and precision. This series allows for a number of customizations, from color to pickguard, knobs to pickups. Models can be built with either a maple or rosewood fretboard to meet the needs of a variety of players. What Do We Think

We spec’d this guitar out with humbuckers and a maple fretboard to give you a perfect blend of warm humbucking tones with the quick response of maple. The voicing on these Fano humbuckers is robust yet articulate. The bridge position comes through rich and meaty, with a controlled top end. It can spank through a clean amp, but you’ll probably find yourself reaching for the gain knob on the amp to enjoy just how delicious it gets with the amp rocking.

The neck position features a nice punch and slightly compressed attack. It is big and warm, but the maple fretboard gives it some nice enunciation nonetheless. The middle position is round, bold and bell-like. The guitar can even cop some good funk tones in this position!

The Candy Apple Red metallic finish on this guitar is particularly deep and sumptuous. There is no intentional distressing on the guitar, making it perfect for those who wish to put the wear on it themselves.

How Does It Play

This guitar plays nice and low without any fretbuzz. The string action measures just 4/64” on the low E string at the 12th fret, and even lower on the high E. The early 60’s-inspired C profile is temperately slim, but with supportive shoulders to round it out in the hand.
